The Sacred Fire

I have grown up in a family which is extremely religious and believes in traditional rituals and customs. Pooja and Homam have been a part and parcel of my childhood. I am also a firm believer in that Supreme Power which I believe is my own conscience. I am fond of getting Homam done at least once in a year at my place because apart from the peace it gives me, I also believe that it has a cleansing effect. The fire and smoke kills all germs, insects, illnesses and negativity around the place. It also is an excuse to gather friends and family at one place.

This sacred fire douses my inner fire.

Sky, Rain and Me

The sky and I have a very intimate relationship. Just like the one I have with rain. Uncertainty, depression,  anxiety, excitement…whatever be the state of my mind, the sky always and always gives me solace. At this very moment in time, when life is full of uncertainties, all I do is look up at the sky and the burden seems lightening all by itself. Make me more powerful in my mind, in my heart, in my deeds, so much that I have enough to handle myself, whatever comes my way.

Belief

Age old beliefs…can all of it be considered rubbish and illogical?

I personally do not think so. If it were so, we would not have had so many stories to read, so many places to visit and so much more to look forward to. Each belief I feel has a strong foundation of its own, however old and illogical they may seem. I feel the stories or reasonings behind them might have got mixed, ground, cooked, seasoned and garnished over a period of time, thus erasing the original and may be logical explanations behind them. Some are called crazy believers and others hardcore atheists. People like me fall midway. We are still trying to figure out if something, some torn pages of history can be recovered and recognised. And they call us edgy.

Smile is all I do. 🙂
