Beyond the Horizon

Beyond the Horizon

“I couldn’t see anything beyond this. Beyond her. Beyond us.

…the scariest part about love isn’t love itself. It’s letting go and plunging into the unknown. It’s trusting someone with the very most sacred part of your heart. It’s allowing yourself to feel something foreign and uncharted, despite how much it terrifies the hell out of you.

Some people you couldn’t help but love. You loved them without reservation or fear. You loved them hard and fierce, because they deserved it. They deserved to be loved just as much as you deserved for them to return it.

Love. It was the thing that bound us and tore us apart. It was our disease and the remedy of our shattered hearts. It was a sonofabitch.

…just remember, the storm doesn’t last forever. It can scare you; it can shake you to your core. But it never lasts. The rain subsides, the thunder dies, and the winds calm to a soft whisper. And that moment after the storm clouds pass, when all is silent and still, you find peace. Quiet, gentle peace.

Life may not be pretty but it’s always beautiful. We may only see the ugliness on the surface. The shit that only the world chooses to notice. But, if we dig deep, if we get to the heart of life, where there’s no pain or fear, where we can just be who we are and love freely without judgement, it’s really beautiful.

Funny thing about life is that it never turns out the way you want it to.

Your fears are not you. Do you hear me? They don’t define who you are.

…when you know, you know. And you don’t fight it. You don;t deny the inevitable. You free fall because you know there’s someone there to catch you on the other side.”

Detachment

image

“Thus, my detachment from needing any thing or any person in order to feel whole and complete allows me to flow and simply be in life, rather than to fight life or demand anything from anyone. Detachment is the absence of a need to hold on to anyone or anything. It does not mean not having things. It is a way of thinking and being which gives us the freedom to flow with life, as does everything that is given to us by God.”

Dr Wayne W. Dyer talks about detachment in his book “You’ll See It When You Believe It.”

A Story Untold… (Poem)

Dew Drops

She threw them up in the air like coins

Saw them dropping like autumn leaves

Before they crashed onto the ground

And shattered like pieces of glass

Neither a loud thud nor any shatter

Just a few unshed tears

That weren’t allowed to drop down

Like lightning they just crashed

Now and then in front of her eyes

And every time they showed up

She tried hiding them underneath

The burden of expectations

She stamped on them, stabbed them

And killed them ruthlessly

So many unsaid words and unspoken feelings,

A bunch of unfulfilled dreams

An unrequited love

Undefined pain it is

Strangulated every now and then

Her desires didn’t have a voice while alive

They finally died a silent death

A story untold…

Darkness will fade away

The mist will be gone

Sun rays will peep through the windows

A Dedicated Teacher

Dew Drops

image

The firstborn, Anu, loves playing a teacher. These are books in which she has taught one of our previous helps how to read and write. She used to give her homework to be completed on a daily basis and she also taught her to speak in English, though not so fluently.
Wish Anu ends up doing some wonderful job of passing on education to those who are willing and interested like this one was.

Waterfall (1)

image

A click from our recent trip to Dhuandhar Bedaghat waterfalls near Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh. These are also called Marble Water Falls. An amazing experience this was. Considering the only waterfalls I have seen are the Kempty Falls in Mussorie, this was breathtakingly beautiful. Due to lack of time since we had a train to catch, we couldn’t go for the boating experience. Next time for sure. And then I’ll have more pics to share.

Don’t miss the rainbow in the pic. It was awesome.

Craftsman-Ship

Something that caught my fancy on our recent trip to Kanha Tiger Reserve. We stayed close to a Baiga village in Balaghat district, closer to Mukki gate which is 55 kms from the Kanha Kisli gate. Baiga tribals were the first to appear on the soil. The tribal crafts museum had so many such arts and crafts exhibits that I almost wished I had all if them.

Perfectly Imperfect

“We have all heard that no two snowflakes are alike. Each snowflake takes the perfect form for the maximum efficiency and effectiveness for its journey. And while the universal force of gravity gives them a shared destination, the expansive space in the air gives each snowflake the opportunity to take their own path. They are on the same journey, but each takes a different path.
Along this gravity-driven journey, some snowflakes collide and damage each other, some collide and join together, some are influenced by wind… there are so many transitions and changes that take place along the journey of the snowflake. But, no matter what the transition, the snowflake always finds itself perfectly shaped for its journey.
I find parallels in nature to be a beautiful reflection of grand orchestration. One of these parallels is of snowflakes and us. We, too, are all headed in the same…
